It’s Time!

Join the Online Bible Study: Outrageously Fruitful

Are you distracted by our ‘selfie’ world, where the prevailing attitude is “what’s in it for me?”

Do you find yourself falling for society’s definitions of love, joy, and peace?

Have you found yourself trying to do things in your own strength – only to run out of steam before you’re done?

These are challenging questions. I’d like to say I’ve never struggled in these areas, but the truth is – I have. And questions like these are the reason I wrote my Bible study, Outrageously Fruitful.

His fruit His way

So in a world consumed with self, how do we win the battle against selfishness? Only through the power of the Holy Spirit. As we make reading and obeying God’s Word, and talking to Him a regular part of our day, the Holy Spirit helps us produce noteworthy fruit: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance.

We can’t manufacture this spiritual fruit on our own. It can only be reflected in our lives as we yield to the Heavenly Father’s will.

How do we win the battle against selfishness? Only through the power of the Holy Spirit.

What it looks like

When unbelievers see this fruit in action, it causes them to stop and consider the God of the universe:

  • Love gives without expecting anything in return.

  • Joy is a result of putting Jesus first, others second, and ourselves third.

  • Peace is not an absence of conflict, but is the product of embracing prayer and thanksgiving in the midst of the storm.

  • Patient endurance in the face of suffering speaks volumes.

  • Gentleness gets the attention of those who treat others with rudeness.

  • Demonstrating consistent faith and faithfulness testify to a great God.

  • Meekness is strength under control, someone who is free from pride.

  • Temperance or self-control is powerful in an “if it feels good do it” society.

Dependent on Him

When I wrote this study, each lesson was intensely personal because I realized my own need for the Holy Spirit’s help to live a fruitful life. Living the Christian life requires complete dependence on God. I’m sure you’ve realized this too.

If you’re like me, you want your life to make an eternal difference. Are you ready to take an honest look at your current behavior and re-focus on the Lord, so you can be outrageously fruitful for Him?
