How is it possible to maintain joy when the trial you’re going through doesn’t seem to end? I’m honored to feature my friend Kelli Canfield as she addresses this difficult topic.
No stranger to the tough stuff of life, Kelli gives us a window into her heart as she wrestled with maintaining joy when diagnosed with a chronic illness.
Pull up a chair and read about the One at the center of Kelli’s joy.
JOY – Spelling It Right
This month we’re exploring all-things joy. How is your joy-tank? Do you feel like you’re running on empty? Today’s post is for you. It’s an edited excerpt from my Bible study, Outrageously Fruitful, and I’m praying it refreshes you and fills your tank to overflowing.
Remember Not to Forget
I love the thought of a fresh start. A new beginning. A blank slate with all kinds of possibilities. There’s just something about a new year that fills me with anticipation. I’ve been reading through the book of Deuteronomy and was recently reminded of the importance of seeking God and His wisdom for every new beginning. Whether we’re entering a new year, a new decade of life, or just a new day – God’s Word contains exactly what we need.
Loving Outside the Boundaries
There have been many real life heroes in my past. I think of a former church member, sweet Kath, who loved Jesus fiercely even when her mind began to slip. She couldn’t remember names or facts but she spouted Scripture from her very soul, a perfect example of what it means when God says He writes His words upon our hearts.
What’s It Worth To You?
I’m a fragrance girl. I love all different kinds of scents – from the fresh, invigorating ones, to those with floral notes – it’s always a treat to add a new perfume to my assortment. But the price has to be right. Admittedly, I’m a bargain shopper; always on the hunt for the best deal
What I Learned from a Former Prostitute
There are some pretty colorful characters sprinkled throughout the pages of Scripture. Have you ever thought about it? Murderers, thieves, prostitutes – not the kind of people you and I are looking to emulate. But something happened in each person’s life that made him/her a hero in spite of a sullied background.
The Powerhouse of Prayer – Guest Post by Leslie Bennett
Her humble, sweet disposition was the first thing I noticed. I had the privilege of meeting Leslie Bennett, the Women’s Ministries Initiatives Director for Revive Our Hearts, at the True Woman Conference held in Indianapolis in 2014. As I got to know her, it was her passion for prayer that spoke loud and clear.
Never Forget
I’ve watched my friend Kelli Canfield go through some stormy times the past few years as she’s battled with chronic illness. Never one to complain, she’s chosen to use the trial God’s allowed in her life as a means of ministering to others. She has been and continues to be a source of inspiration as she daily lives out what it looks like to allow Christ to be strong in her weakness.
