Praise: the Language of Thanksgiving

It’s the perfect time of year to reflect on the many ways the Lord has blessed us. I’m thankful for the privilege of having a relationship with the God of the Universe. The Psalmist David paints a beautiful picture of praise to our Heavenly Father:

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.Psalm 100: 1-5

Puts things into perspective, doesn’t it? God created us and calls each of us into a personal relationship. Because He is good, He extends mercy to us every single time we blow it. In addition to loving us unconditionally, God meets all of our needs and many of our wants, too.

There are so many reasons to praise Him – take time to thank Him today. Wishing you and yours a very happy Thanksgiving!

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, Thank You for who You are. You’re my Creator and You love me unconditionally. I depend on You for everything. Forgive me for taking so many things for granted. Accept my prayer of praise and thanks today. I love You, Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
